Wilder is the youngest Carver sibling. At the tender age of 12 he lives with his parents, Charlotte and Phoebe in their modest Bostonian home. Wilder adores the outdoors and horses in particular. On April 19, 1775 when their home is raided, he is out in the fields with the horses. When he returns he is devastated to find that his family is gone, his house ransacked and he is all alone.
